To connect you with this experience firsthand, we sent 3 lucky reservation team members and their families to stay at Peninsula 1 on the exclusive northern tip of Hamilton Island. This beautiful 4 bedroom villa is 5 star standard, open plan upstairs downstairs with large, modern living spaces and 2 pools. For groups it’s a private haven just 5 minutes by buggy from the shopping and activities of Hamilton Island Marina. So, what can families expect?
Along with the Coral Sea island views and close proximity of the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island is famous for its swimming pools. The temperate climate is perfect for kids and swimmers. The beauty of a property like Peninsula 1 is how easy it is to supervise them from the balcony above or around the pool. Set out drinks and nibbles on the table, pull up a bar stool or just relax on the beautiful sun beds. There are so many options.
Travelling in a group of families is a lot of fun, especially when there’s a purpose built space that the kids can gravitate to. With a second living room downstairs, they can play games, draw and watch TV or movies while the grown-ups do their own thing upstairs. Many of the upstairs downstairs properties we manage accommodate families in this way.
At the end of the day, it’s just a short walk up the hill for one of the highlights of island life, cocktails at sunset.
Villas like Peninsula 1 have everything you could need or want. Our team’s group consisted of 5 adults and 4 kids, with friends coming and going, and they didn’t run out of glasses or plates once. It’s not unusual for the kitchen in a private property like this to have a blender, plastic plates and cups for the kids, glad wrap, Tupperware containers and even a second fridge downstairs for drinks.
