“Apollo” has a proud and extensive racing history listed as follows:
Sydney – Hobart Line Winner (twice) and numerous second and third placings. Winner of the South China Sea Series. Apollo has won every major race held on the East Coast of Australia including: Sydney to Brisbane and Brisbane to Gladstone. Apollo set the record for the Sydney to Southport race. Winner of the Kenwood Cup. Winner of the Around Hawaii Island Race. Winner of the Cairns New Guinea Race. Winner of the Hobart to Honiara Race and not forgetting Winner of the 6 gruelling Whitsunday Fun Races consecutively.
She is quite simply an “EXCITEMENT MACHINE”.
3 DAY/2 NIGHT MAXI SAILING AROUND THE WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS
After boarding the vessel on day 1 and being briefed with regards to safety on board we will motor out of the marina, you can join with us in hoisting the sails and heading to Blue Pearl Bay where you can try your hand at our Free Scuba Dive and also snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef Marin Park. On completion of diving/snorkeling activities, we will sail to our next destination – Hook Passage where we will anchor for the evening.
Day 2 commences early with a sail to the World Famous Whitehaven Beach with its 4 miles of white silica sand where you will relax on the beach for a relaxing 3 hours. No other vessel spends this amount of time at Whitehaven Beach. During this time you can sunbake, swim or enjoy beach activities and games. We then drop passengers off to Tongue Bay where they can bushwalk to the spectacular Hill Inlet Lookouts for the opportunity to take some amazing photographs of Whitehaven Beach and its multi colored swirling sands. After lunch we sail to Luncheon Bay for further opportunities to dive and snorkel in another World Famous marine reserve. Before dinner, Certified Divers have the option to night dive and experience the wonders of the reef at night.
On our final day we sail to the second most famous, and most photographed, beach in the Whitsundays – Langford Spit which is adjacent to the 5 Star Resort – Hayman Island. Passengers are again able to dive, snorkel or just relax on the beach at this magnificent location. After lunch, the finale of the trip is a breathtaking sail across the Whitsunday Passage to disembark at Abel Point Marina.
That evening, passengers are able to join our After Trip Party at Beaches for discounted food and drinks.
All Sailing/Diving activities as well as destinations are weather dependent and subject to change at the skipper’s discretion. All meals are freshly prepared and so are subject to change based on availability of produce.
Special Dietary Requirement (eg. Vegetarians / Gluten Free) incur a $10 dietary surcharge payable at time of departure.
Guests will experience the excitement of a FREE SCUBA DIVE for both introductory and certified divers. Dives are of a minimum 30 minutes duration. This will definitely be a highlight of their trip. This is the perfect way to discover the magnificent coral reefs of the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. Apollo is a full service dive vessel, with all equipment carried on board. There is no need to meet up with another dive boat, again saving time and maximizing passenger’s enjoyment. Night dives are conducted for certified divers and again are a trip highlight. Certified divers must have their card and any passengers who are Asthmatics, diabetics, epileptics, over 45’s or any serious medical conditions will require a current Recreational Dive Medical.
It is strongly recommended that stinger suits be worn all year around for protection against marine stingers. All water activities are conditional on wearing a stinger suit.

WHAT TO BRING
You will need to bring the following items:
- Wet weather jacket is recommended
- Bring your own alcohol – NO GLASS; NO RED WINE; NO BANANAS
- Your own towel, warm clothes for cooler nights, water bottle, snacks, hat, sunscreen, toiletries, underwater camera, iPod
- Sheets and pillows are provided
- Tap water is available on board bring your own bottle
- All items bought on board are to be carried in a small open bag, either soft bag, cloth bag, plastic bags or supermarket environmental bags – NO ZIPS; NO LARGE BACKPACKS AND NO SUITCASES.
All passengers are to meet at South Marina Tour Departure Point (located to the right of “Lure” Conference & Wedding Centre), South Marina Village, Abell Point Marina, Airlie Beach at 8.00am the morning of departure with their trip tickets/vouchers.
Departs Monday – 8:00am Friday – 8:00am
Returns Wednesday – 3.30pm Sunday – 3.30pm (Dependent on Tide and Weather)

TERMS & CONDITIONS
It is mandatory that stinger suits be worn at all times for protection against marine stingers. We advise adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard guests, we cannot be responsible for any damage, personal injury or loss due to actions beyond our control. We recommend you take out travel insurance. Any correspondence required for insurance purposes will incur a fee of $50.00 per person. We reserve the right to alter destinations and/or activities at the captain’s discretion, due to prevailing weather and tidal conditions, and to substitute vessels at any time for any reason. All cruises are subject to weather. At any time during the cruise, passengers may be photographed or their moving images recorded. By travelling on Apollo, passengers consent to their images being displayed in promotion of this cruise which includes but is not limited to brochures, posters, email, website, facebook etc. Cancellations and Transfers are not permitted less than 21 days before departure. Cancellations made less than 21 days before departure will result in complete forfeiture of full price. All other cancellations or transfers will incur a fee of $50.00 per person.
