A tropical island holiday over Christmas and New Year is the most direct route to Relax-ville. It’s incredible what a difference no cars can make. No cars. No stress. On Hamilton Island the pace is set to ‘meander’ along island paths, or the leisurely pace of a golf buggy (kids love the golf buggies). Go bushwalking for something more vigorous, especially early morning when the scenery at the top of the island is breathtaking.
In the same amount of time it takes to separate the kids from their Christmas presents, grit your teeth and ride the Christmas rush across town to Aunty Fiona’s place on Christmas Day, you could be touching down at the only airport in The Whitsunday Islands, at Hamilton Island. Fly direct from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Bypass the shuttle bus. We’ll have a valet service to pick you up and whisk you away to your accommodation.
There are dozens of ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve on Hamilton Island. Dress up and formally see the new year in with a lavish meal and evening filled with dancing and entertainment. Walk off dinner with a stroll around the island, taking in the atmosphere of the occasion. The bars and Marina are open until the wee hours. Take the littlies down to Catseye Beach for fun activities and the early fireworks, just for them.
We won’t scare you with ‘it’s only 10 weeks to Christmas’, but seriously, it is October and officially time to be factoring in your Christmas plans. (Or re-considering them now you know the pros of a Hamilton Island Christmas!)
